Rumble is a YouTube alternative trying their hand at being considered the “Free Speech” version of the platform. Popular talk show host Dan Bongino has invested into Rumble and is busy promoting them. — Subsequently many people are asking Team World Supporter to do a review.
Here are the basics:
In order to upload any videos to Rumble, a user needs to verify his account by putting in a phone number and putting in the code texted to them. When you upload a video, you get four options:
1) Exclusive Video Management license: Where Rumble takes care of the distribution of your video and uploads it to other platforms such as YouTube, MSN, and other third-party affiliations.
Option 2) Video Management (excluding YouTube): It is the same as option one, just excluding YouTube.
Option 3) Rumble Player License: The video does not get distributed anywhere outside of Rumble.com. Rumble monetizes it, but the creator has the ability to do whatever he or she wants with it licensing wise. They can take their content and promote it themselves in any other platform without issues.
Option 4) Personal Use: This option just gives Rumble the right to play the users video on Rumble. No monetization or promotion will be done on Rumble’s behalf.
Rumble also has an option for auto syndication. If a user links his Daily Motion, Vimeo, Pinterest, Facebook, and/or YouTube accounts then Rumble will take care of uploading the videos to those accounts. When a channel reaches 20 subscribers they get the option to create a custom link for their channel.
The green check by a channel is a test feature that is only given to users with a big following at the moment, Rumble will release requirements very soon.
Monetization depends on the license the user chooses. There is a big intersection of advertisements, promotion, and syndication to other sites that has to be considered. Normally, this process takes 48-72 hours and it includes a couple of checks the video has to get through to make sure it is brand safe for those ads and the platform. But, since Rumble exploded in popularity, the process can sometimes take 10 times longer. They are working to reduce this wait time as one of their biggest priorities.
In order to get a user’s video into the right section a user should make sure to use the right tags.
Now to our review:
A couple months ago I came across a concerning post claiming censorship on Rumble’s part. The claim was that Rumble took down an anti-vaccine video. After reaching out to Rumble they responded that the reason they took down the video had nothing to do with vaccines, it was copyrighted material. We tried to reach out to the original claimant to no response.
After uploading The Yossi Schmidt Show to Rumble, since the beginning of the show, Rumble is extremely easy to use. It took a couple weeks to get the hang of but that was it. There are no deterrents that I came across before or during the review. Therefore, I can recommend the platform at a 10/10!
